The Patrol Division of the Coahoma County Sheriff's Department is dedicated to serving the citizens of Coahoma County. The patrol division is the most important part  of the Sheriff's Department. The patrol division answers all calls received from citizens, works traffic accidents, patrols the county to insure a safe environment for the citizens, and performs numerous security duties throughout the county. The patrol division works eight hour shifts, with a shift commander in charge of each shift. All Deputies of the Coahoma County Sheriff's Department are certified by the Mississippi Board on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Training.
